A modern showcase for the photographer, Darren Chung

Interior and Lifestyle photographer, Darren Chung has an inspiring extensive portfolio working with some of the biggest names in the business over his career, but had a website that felt outdated and wasn’t showcasing his work as well as it should have. 

We started by reviewing Darren’s current website, and quickly established a few key areas that needed to change to a) stop barriers in the users experience and b) make browsing his portfolio a simple and enjoyable experience. 

As Darren’s portfolio grows week on week with new projects, we also wanted to ensure he could keep it fresh and updated himself without

having to reach out each time, so we built him a templated site on Squarespace.

We wanted the user to dive straight into his portfolio, so pulled out a mini version of it on his homepage, highlighting the key sectors that he works in. We also built an ‘about’ page that not only taught you more about Darren, but also offered a list of clients and places his work has been featured. The whole portfolio is a simple scrolling page, meaning minimal input (no clicks) which is enjoyable to view not only on desktop but also mobile. 

Darren’s content was so beautiful, the website needed to be a carrier for it, never overshadowing it, showcasing it in its best light.
