Realigning what is possible with Posture Ellie

The Brand

Posture Alignment therapist Ellie (aka Posture Ellie), had been working several successful years on her business, but like many, had trundled along with a written logo and no actual brand to speak of, whilst she got the measure of what exactly her business was going to be. She was now at the stage where she was ready to fully invest in herself, and was ready for the brand to match the professional business that she’d built.

Kicking off the project, Ellie was really keen to show Off Grid what she does and how she works, so we each joined her for a one-to-one assessment. Ellie was really keen to show the team what she does, and how she works. This hour workshop was invaluable, not only for our wonky desk job postures, but also for us to get a better understanding of her brand. Her knowledge, expertise and personality are her brand, so getting to see that in action was key. Ellie also had a good idea of her aesthetic, leaning towards natural earthy tones, with a love of anything retro.

Communicating what Ellie does, and how she does it was a really important part of the process, so we knew that the brand not only needed to showcase ‘Posture Ellie’ but it also needed to provide the tools and assets for her to communicate clearly and confidently with her clients. Alongside a playful, organic feeling logotype, we also hand drew figures depicting Ellie’s exercises and postures.

Alongside a playful, organic feeling logotype, we also hand drew figures depicting Ellie’s exercises and postures. Never wanting to feel clinical, or sterile - we used an earthy palette and painted textures to ground the illustrations. So much of what Ellie does is about the feeling or emotion behind the pain, and ultimately the recovery and release, we developed hand painted shapes to represent these feelings that could be used to support her brand and bring personality and a sense of movement.

The Website

Now with a clear idea of the brand and what Ellie does, we set about designing a website that would communiticate this. We started with a website review on her old site, looking at the content and user experience and where things were and weren't working. We suggested a restructure, a new navigation and created designs for a new homepage and services page. We were able to simplify how users quickly and easily get to key information, learn about her services, and also offer engaging layouts that really show the brand personality.
