Maryline & Peter moved to their smallholding in North Wales to follow their dream of being more self-sufficient and living a life that’s kinder to the planet and more in tune with nature.

Their home sits in beautiful countryside, with rolling views of Mid-Wales and an impressive vegetable garden with resident hens. They benefit from a wind turbine and solar panels which help to power their low-impact lifestyle.

Just down the lane, in a meadow that they have been nurturing, sits their Shepherd’s hut - a beautifully rustic space and the perfect place to retreat from life's hectic pace.

In keeping with their way of life, the hut offers guests an off-grid experience, with a composting loo and simple amenities in the field kitchen. Maryline offers homemade breakfast made from homegrown and local produce, all delivered in a hamper.

Maryline & Peter approached us to design a brand that could capture all the wild and rustic charm of their offering, a brand that would look professional, but tell their story and speak of their values.

Peter and his son Thomas are both software engineers and were keen to build the site themselves, in fact, they'd already started when they approached us. They knew what they were doing, but wanted help to translate the brand into a beautiful and functional website that would focus on the Shepherd’s hut, allowing guests to book online, but also offering a space for Maryline to share her creative passions - writing and creating new recipes with the produce from their land. We worked with them to design the homepage, Shepherd’s hut page and Contact page, and created a style guide that would allow them to roll out the design over any additional pages.
