Wildfire, a life with cancer laid bare on the pages

Editorial Design

Wildfire is a bi-monthly magazine created for ‘women too young for breast cancer’. It tells the most incredible stories, sharing knowledge, strength, creativity and beauty from this community of women. Founder, April, wanted to create something different for women like herself. Most, if not all literature around cancer was predominantly aimed at those much older, leaving the community of those ‘too young’ without a voice. She also noted that any print with the subject of cancer was sterile, uninspiring and echoing the ‘medical’ literature they were surrounded by.

Wildfire was born to be different. Designed with the intention of feeling like any luxury editorial magazine, it isn’t until you engage with the content do you realise that the subject matter is unique.

We were approached by our good friend Hannah, who had redesigned, and delivered the magazine for several years. She wasn’t going to just hand over the design reins to anyone! Since then we have had the pleasure of visually bringing these stories, poems and articles to life with beautiful sympathetic design.

Working on Wildfire has been a privilege. When the world around us gets too noisy, working on Wildfire shines a light with its emotive and raw brilliance.
